Name of the pilot: ELECTRICITY PILOT: Onshore power, battery (storage)
Contact details: Port of Korsør
Involved staff: Port director Jimmi Jørgensen, jij@korsoerhavn.dk
Short description of pilot
The Port of Korsør wish to develop the electrification agenda of NSR ports and strengthen its position as a green port and believes that installing battery capacity will improve their position. The Port of Korsør will contribute to the onshore power / battery / green electricity pilot by integrating a battery capacity between the shore power and the energy grid. Energy providers wish to harmonize the energy pressure by including batteries as buffers that can be charged when there is a surplus production of green power. To contribute to this Port of Korsør will install a battery between the shore power system and the local power grid.
Expected output /results of the pilot:
Analysis of an intelligent implementation of battery capacity that can be integrated at the port, and the actual construction of the battery system.
Transnational value and valorisation:
The electrification agenda is important for most NSR ports, and the Port of Korsør will by this work illustrate the opportunities that the battery technology may accommodate.
Internal participating project partners: Port of Moss
External participants project partners: Port of Moss, battery providers, grid operators, energy companies.
Timing of the pilot:
The analyses of the technology and assessment of best technology will be done during the first year of the project. Tender and investment will be made during the second and third year.
Indicative budget:
Year 2023: 95,000,-
Year 2023: 95,000,-
Year 2025: 392,500,-
Plan of communication for the pilot:
The activities of battery installation in the port shore power are innovative and is expected to raise interest from many port partners that are in similar situation. A seminar will be held in during the project, communication activities in local, regional, national and EU media will be included.
